What’s your opinion?

Lepigen Superstrong is a “fat burner” that helps you lose weight by boosting your metabilism, ensuring your body burns more calories. Lepigen Superstrong contains synephrine which affects the body in a way similar to adrenaline or ephedrine. It increases the metabolism, gives physical and mental energy, increases performance and suppresses appetite. At the same time the blood pressure increases.

Here you’ll find frequently asked questions & answers about Lepigen Superstrong: how they differ from other ways to lose weight, and their pros & cons.

Lepigen Superstrong is not sold in the UK. Instead, check out other popular diet pills, such as Proactol, DEcarb or Hoodia Patch.

Frequently asked questions about Lepigen Superstrong

Synephrine, the active substance in Lepigen Superstrong, is related to adrenaline which has a similar effect. The metabolism is increased by approximately 10%, you burn more calories, appetite is suppressed, you become more alert and more energetic at the same time as your performance increases. This makes you lose weight and gives you a general feeling of well-being. It gives that extra energy kick sometimes needed on night shifts or tough work-outs. The manufacturer claims that you can lose 10 kilos a month by using Lepigen Superstrong.

The downside is that the pulse and blood pressure increases, which could have side-effects on the heart and blood vessels such as palpitations. You can become restless and have difficulty sleeping.

Authorities have on several occasions warned of synephrine in diet and sports products due to its strong effect on the body.

Synephrine gives an effect similar to the substance Ephedrine, but with less side-effects. Ephedrine has been called “amphetamine light” and has been banned in several European countries where it can only be sold with a prescription. Synephrine is a weaker alternative to Ephedrine.

The active substance in Lepigen Superstrong, synephrine, can be extracted from bitter orange or unripe bitter oranges. Sometimes it is not called ‘synephrine’, but ‘bitter orange’ or ‘citrus aurantium’, the latin name for bitter orange. It’s still the same thing.

In those countries where its active substance synephrine is legal, the answer is yes. However, authorities warn against consuming large amount of synephrine as well as combining synephrine with caffeine.

Synephrine is also used as a medicine against acute low blood pressure.

Not Lepigen Superstrong in particular, but for similar pills containing synephrine there are at least two clinical studies showing weight loss and at least three clinical studies showing that synephrine increases the burning of calories in the body. Several studies are currently ongoing.

I’ve heard rumours that one study showed that synephrine does NOT give any negative side-effect on the heart and blood vessels, but I’ve not managed to find that study.

Synephrine is a ‘catecholamine’, i.e. a “fight or flight” hormone. Other catecholamines are adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine. They affect the sympathic nervous system making the body ready for action – raise the pulse, increase the blood pressure and affect the blood sugar levels. Catecholamines are produced naturally in the body due to stress, strong sounds and strong light. All of this boosts the metabolism and burning fat from the fat reserves of the body, which leads to weight loss.

Synephrine is chemically very similar to Ephedrine. Ephedrine is for example used as asthma medicine and increases the blood pressure.

Sometimes you can read that Synephrine is extra efficient when it comes to burning fat. This is probably a misunderstanding – studies on dogs have shown that synephrine increases the metabolism in a certain type of fat tissue, ‘Brown Adipose Tissue’ (BAT). Unfortunately adults barely have any BAT, so increasing the metabolism where there are few cells serves little purpose.

Lepigen Superstrong contains synephrine which affects the sympathetic nervous system and increases fat burning. There are however different kinds of diet pills.

Popular pills increasing the fat burning processes are
– the more gentle: Lepigen X-strong and H.O.P.E,
– the more powerful (containing synephrine): Lepigen Superstrong,
– and the more long-term (containing wakame): Termoloss and Zenjaki (not sold in the UK at the moment).

There are also diet pills that block fat, or at least ensure the body cannot use all of it. These are: Proactol, Lipobind and H.O.P.E.

The third type of pills lower the Glycemic Index of the food. These are: DEcarb.

There are also diet pills (and patches) that suppress appetite, Hoodia Patch (Evolution), as well as those transforming fat into muscle, Evolution CLA.

The last type of diet pills cleanse the body through detox, and in that group we have 30 days.

Apart from Lepigen Superstrong which contains synephrine, there’s Lepigen X-strong, which contains natural substances that increase the metabolism (without synephrine). Lepigen F1-fatburning booster contains amino-acids which increase the burning of fat and makes you feel more full after a meal. The manufacturer recommends combining Lepigen Superstrong with F1-fatburning booster to further increase the burning of fat.
